26.04.2013

On April 26 Russian President Vladimir Putin met with members of the Council of Legislators’ Presidium of the Federal Assembly at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin.

The subjects discussed included implementation of the President’s Annual Address to the Federal Assembly and the presidential executive orders of May 2012.

Farid Mukhametshin also raised several questions at the meeting. He thanked the President of Russian Federation for his continued help in preparation for the Universiade. “After his inspection visit to Kazan in March of this year all federal departments and agencies of the Republic of Tatarstan actively involved in solving our common problems,” Farid Mukhametshin said.

In addition, the Chairman of the RT State Council informed the Head of the Russian State about the work done on the audit of the Republican legislation.

Tatarstan Parliament Speaker also addressed to Vladimir Putin with the request to support legislative initiative of the Republic of Tatarstan on amendments to the Federal Law “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations”, which was passed by the State Duma in the first reading. As a reminder, Tatarstan Parliament came up with this initiative after dangerous events of last summer in Kazan related to assassinations of Islamic spiritual leaders. The draft law gives right to religious organizations to establish the order of recognition of graduate diplomas in religious education of foreign universities.

“I believe that this bill is very important for the European and central part of Russia,” Farid Mukhametshin said.
