On March 4, during his working trip to Ulan-Ude, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Head of the Republic of Buryatia Aleksey Tsydenov.

Minnikhanov stressed that the regions have good prospects for the development of cooperation. Tatarstan interacts with the enterprises of Ulan-Ude in the field of helicopter production. KAMAZ trucks, tires, diesel fuel, sheet glass, nitrogen fertilizers, detergents, food, medical instruments and medicines are supplied to Buryatia.

To increase mutual supplies, Tatarstan President  proposed updating the current cooperation agreement and defining an action plan for its implementation. “We are ready to expand the supply of engineering products, consumer goods, food and medical products. We should draw up a list of products from Tatarstan and Buryatia that would be interesting for our regions,” Minnikhanov said.

During their meeting, Minnikhanov and Tsydenov noted common interests in the field of tourism. Tatarstan President emphasized that Buryatia is known for the unique nature of Lake Baikal. “Many people are eager to visit Baikal. Moreover, from the side of Buryatia, the lake is very beautiful, has beautiful beaches and crystal-clear water. In general, there are no more places like Baikal in the world. You just need to think over the issues related to logistics. We, in turn, are actively developing ecotourism in Tatarstan. We can also cooperate in this area,” Minnikhanov noted.

In his turn, Tsydenov noted the prospects for cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals, science and education, strengthening cooperation in the helicopter industry.
