Rustam Minnikhanov: It is necessary to continue active work on crime prevention and minimization of conditions for corruption

On March 2, in the Kazan Kremlin, speaking at a meeting of the Commission for Coordination of Anti-Corruption Work in Tatarstan with participation of Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Office Asgat Safarov, heads of various ministries and departments and heads of municipalities of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that it is necessary to continue active work on crime prevention and minimization of conditions for corruption.

Minnikhanov emphasized that corruption remains a significant obstacle to economic development and has a negative impact on the standard of living of the population.

Tatarstan President said that the republic pays great attention to the prevention of corruption in the social sphere, and the measures taken are yielding results. Sociological studies have shown that the number of citizens involved in corruption situations has decreased by 2.5 times in the last 10 years.

First Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Rustam Nigmatullin, Head of Tatarstan President’s Office on Anti-Corruption Policy Mars Badrutdinov, Head of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Tatarstan Valery Lipsky, Acting Prosecutor of Tatarstan Yulia Naumova and other officials took part in the meeting.
