On February 9, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of the Muslim Spiritual Board of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Khazrat Gainutdin discussed the preparation and celebration of an important event for the entire Muslim community of the country - the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.

As part of the celebration of this date, it is planned to hold solemn events, scientific, educational and religious forums and conferences, exhibitions, competitions, etc. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the initiative to celebrate the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam.
