On January 28, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a working meeting on the development of the Kazan Airport and the Kazan Expo Exhibition Centre.
Minnikhanov noted that both facilities are of strategic importance for the republic. Today the Kazan Airport is one of the largest in Russia in terms of passenger and cargo traffic and serves a wide range of international and domestic flights. The total capacity of passenger terminals is 2.5 million passengers per year. As for the Kazan Expo, it has a large exhibition area and a well-developed infrastructure.
Tatarstan President stressed that the concepts of the airport and exhibition centre development should be synchronized. He gave an errand to work out common approaches to development and infrastructure issues. The establishment of a bonded zone in this territory may become the main development factor.
During the meeting, the relevant ministries introduced developers, who announced their proposals.
