The “Hidden Treasury: Classic Turkish Art” exhibition was opened today in the Kazan Kremlin. Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin and Vice-Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ms. Meral Akshener attended the event.

The exhibition showcases the best examples of Turkish art: Islamic calligraphy, miniatures and Ebru. Over 100 works of traditional Turkish art are exposed at the exhibition. Everyone can try their hand at calligraphy and take part in master-classes and workshops conducted by Turkish artists.

The unique project is implemented under the auspices of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Cemil Cicek.

“Turkey and Tatarstan are developing mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, including cultural sphere. I have no doubt that our Turkish colleagues’ visit will further contribute to the development of the relations between Tatarstan and Turkish Parliaments,” Farid Mukhametshin said welcoming the visitors.

Meral Akshener thanked the RT President, Chairman of Tatarstan Parliament and representatives of the Turkish side for active participation in the creation of the exhibition.

Later Farid Mukhametshin and Meral Akshener visited the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan to listen to the concert performed by the Presidential Turkish Classical Music Choir.
