At a briefing at Tatarstan Government House Deputy Head of Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations Yury Venediktov informed that in the nearest time Tatarstan citizens would again hear sounds of sirens and receive sms about testing of notification system in republic. Events are being held in order to test Regional automated emergency public notification system.

The system is to be tested on April 9 from 10 to 12 a.m.in all municipalities. Electric sirens installed in settlements, terminals of All-Russia complex public notification system in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny installed near shopping malls, and terminals of disaster prevention public notification system on transport installed in Kazan underground will be used upon public notification.

Besides, the “Cell Broadcast” system will be used upon the project implementation. This system enables notifying population in the shortest possible time if a special service installed on a mobile phone is activated, and a person is in the emergency zone or on a certain territory in republic. For now, Megafon is the only company to render the service.
