On January 15, at their meeting on the sidelines of the Gaidar Forum 2021, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and CEO of Coca-Cola HBC Russia Aleksandr Ruzhevich discussed the preparation and holding of the Special Olympics World Winter Games to be held in Kazan in 2022.
Russia will host this competition for the first time. The Coca Cola Company has become the official partner of this socially significant sporting event. Minnikhanov noted that Coca Cola supports the largest events taking place in the republic on a regular basis. “We have a great opportunity to show that our country supports both sports and such social trends in sports as the Special Olympics World Winter Games,” Tatarstan President stressed.
Also during the meeting, Minnikhanov and Ruzhevich discussed the implementation of joint environmental initiatives. In 2019, Tatarstan and Coca-Cola signed an agreement on the development of a culture of separate accumulation and collection of solid municipal waste. In accordance with it, the infrastructure of separate waste collection is being improved for the purpose of its subsequent processing, as well as environmental education projects are underway in Tatarstan.
Ruzhevich thanked Tatarstan President for his personal involvement in the company's projects.
