Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with representatives of the Tatarstan Metropolis: Such meetings serve as a basis for interreligious and inter-ethnic peace and harmony

On January 14, at the Kazan Diocesan Administration, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the bishops of the Tatarstan Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Tatarstan President congratulated the Orthodox believers of the Tatarstan Metropolis on Christmas and wished them good mood, optimism and spiritual and physical strength for new achievements.

Minnikhanov said that today respected Vladyka Feofan is no longer with them, who for the last five years led the Tatarstan Metropolis and kept a good memory.

Head of the Tatarstan Metropolis, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill thanked Tatarstan President for his good attitude to Feofan, whom Kirill called his "elder brother."

Minnikhanov also said that such meetings with representatives of the Metropolitan are very important and useful: they provide the basis for fruitful state-religious interaction and interethnic peace and harmony.
