Rustam Minnikhanov congratulates employees of the prosecutor's office on the 299th anniversary of the founding of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia and the Day of Workers of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia

On January 12, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, Prosecutor of Tatarstan Ildus Nafikov took part in a ceremony of handing in awards of Tatarstan and departmental awards to prosecutors as part of the event dedicated to the 299th anniversary of the founding of the Russian prosecutor's office and the Day of Workers of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia.

All municipal regions of the republic took part in the event by video conferencing.

In his welcoming speech, Minnikhanov congratulated everyone on their professional holiday - the Day of Workers of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia. He reminded that for almost three centuries the Russian prosecutor's office has reliably protected human and civil rights and freedoms, the interests of the state from criminal encroachments.

Employees of the Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan fulfill their official duties perfectly, keep and enhance the glorious traditions of the supervisory department, he went on to say.

“It is gratifying that the prosecutor’s office is developing dynamically. The measures taken to improve the work have a positive effect on the effectiveness of the prosecutor's supervision. The number of citizens whose rights are protected by the regional prosecutor's office is growing. 2020 was a difficult year for all of us. Our society had to deal with new, so far unknown, challenges. In these conditions, the most important task for all government bodies was to maintain a balance between measures to combat the epidemic and respect for the basic socio-economic rights of citizens, the interests of society and the state,” Minnikhanov said in his speech.

The prosecutor's office of the republic has done a great deal of work in this area, including the most effective and efficient, and most importantly legal mechanisms and algorithms of actions, solving the most complex problems.

“In 2020, prosecutors eliminated thousands of violations of the law, and coordinated activities to combat crime and delinquency. It was possible to prevent the destabilization of the life of citizens of the republic, to avoid significant problems in the labour market, to ensure the normal functioning of the economy, business, state and municipal bodies, " Minnikhanov emphasized.

Tatarstan has endured and proved that it is fully capable of mounting the response needed to successfully confront both external and internal threats at the right time.

Minnikhanov wished the employees of the prosecutor's office strength, patience and, which is most important today, good health.

Nafikov noted in his welcoming speech that the employees of the prosecutor's office confidently stand guard over the law, protect the rights and freedoms of citizens. He thanked his colleagues for their work.
