Tatarstan President meets rectors of universities and representatives of academic science

On December 28, in the Government House of the republic, speaking at the meeting with rectors of universities and representatives of academic science, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the year 2020 was a challenging one for the education system. The pandemic situation adjusted the educational process.

Assessing the results of the year, Tatarstan President said that the regional universities overcame the difficulties caused by Covid-19, fully implementing educational programmes and successfully completed an enrollment campaign, including a new online format.

Addressing the rectors, Minnikhanov called for further strict observance of sanitary and epidemiological requirements. Tatarstan President also thanked the universities and students for their active participation in mutual assistance campaigns «We together/Yardham yaneshe».

Minnikhanov added that scientific and educational potential is the most important competitive advantage of Tatarstan. “It is necessary to continue to set global goals, to improve the educational and scientific infrastructure,” Tatarstan President said.
