Rustam Minnikhanov meets Head of the Tatarstan Metropole of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill

On December 16, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Office Asgat Safarov had a meeting with Head of the Tatarstan Metropole of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill.

Minnikhanov congratulated Metropolitan Kirill on his appointment and expressed confidence that his stay at the Kazan cathedra will further strengthen interfaith peace and harmony. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of interaction of the Tatarstan Metropole with state and public organizations, scientific and cultural cooperation.

On December 8, 2020, by the decision of the Holy Synod Kirill was appointed Head of the Tatarstan Metropole, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan.
