Rustam Minnikhanov hands in the Markovnikov Award to the Kazan scientist Alexander Konovalov for his contribution to the development of organic chemistry

On December 16, in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, honored professor of Kazan Federal University Alexander Konovalov, who became the first laureate of the Markovnikov International Award for outstanding contributions to organic chemistry.

Minnikhanov congratulated Konovalov on this high award and emphasized his great contribution to the development of the Kazan chemical school and Russian science in general.

Markovnikov Award was established by the Decree of Tatarstan President in 2020 to "further develop chemical science in Tatarstan, encourage scientists for outstanding scientific works, inventions and discoveries in organic chemistry".
