The oil and gas industry is the basis of the prosperity and the building up of the economic potential of Russia. The dynamics of its development remains a true indicator of the state of the domestic and world industry as a whole.

Currently, hydrocarbon production requires the use of sophisticated innovative technologies and the highly skilled team. The professionalism of an oilman, a geologist, and an engineer determines the success of oil and gas companies and ensures efficient production of hydrocarbons.

I would like to express special thanks to old stagers of the oil and gas industry. The development of the industry and the defense capability of our state are secured by your work. It were you who built the first wells, dug trenches for the first oil pipelines, tens of kilometers long, and laid the pipes manually. That is quite a feat!

The Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers is of particular importance for Tatarstan, since the oil industry is inextricably linked with the life of the republic, its history. The beginning of the development of big oil in Tatarstan in 1943 gave a powerful impetus to the formation and development of the industry both in the republic and throughout the country. Over the past years, more than 3.4 billion tonnes of oil and more than 100 billion cubic meters of associated gas have been produced from the bowels of Tatarstan.

We are facing new tasks and challenges. I am sure oilmen are ready to work in the most difficult conditions, as they are equipped with the most modern technologies. This allows us to look to the future with confidence and optimism.
