Farmers from the Atninsky region of the republic hand in a round bread loaf made from the new grain crop to Rustam Minnikhanov

On September 2, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, during the opening of the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum, farmers from the Atninsky region of the republic handed in a round loaf of bread from the new grain crop to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

The Atninsky region was the first region in the republic to complete the harvesting of grain. Head of the region Gabdulakhat Khakimov handed in a freshly baked loaf to Rustam Minnikhanov.

Tatarstan President thanked farmers for the work and noted that the harvest is good this year.

He also expressed his gratitude to oil workers who annually support farmers by providing fuel on preferential terms.

To date, 4.5 million tonnes of grain have already been cropped in the republic, 1.2 million hectares have been harvested (or 83 per cent). The average yield is 36.7 centners per hectares, which is 5 centners per hectares higher than last year.
