On August 24, in the IT-city of Innopolis, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Director General of the Russian Post Maxim Akimov.
Minnikhanov said that the Russian Post is a long-standing strategic partner of Tatarstan. Today, there are 1,111 post offices in the republic with 9,600 employees.
Tatarstan President emphasized the importance of further close cooperation, and also thanked the senior executives of the Russian Post for issuing a commemorative postage stamp in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Tatar ASSR.
Akimov said that the Russian Post, being the largest postal and logistics company, is interested in developing cooperation with Tatarstan, one of the leading regions of the country. “We are ready to invest here and develop new joint projects,” he added.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between the Russian Post and Tatarstan, including the establishment of a bond zone in the republic and the development of e-commerce. They also considered issues of strengthening the material and technical base of post offices and the further development of cooperation between the Russian Post and the University of Innopolis.
At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov and Akimov signed an agreement of intent for cooperation between Tatarstan Government and the Russian Post. An agreement between the Russian Post and the Innopolis University was also signed.
Under this document, the parties will develop joint research and innovation projects.
