Rustam Minnikhanov visits a new funeral complex “Kurgan” in Kazan

On August 13, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Kurgan funeral complex of Kazan, located in the area of 825 km of the M-7 road. The construction of this complex, with the capacity of 147,500 burials, started in 2017 and completed in 2019.

Tatarstan President looked around the administration building and other facilities, and got acquainted with the improvement of the complex territory.

Head of the Department for the organization of funeral services of Kazan city Marat Ishkin informed that the funeral complex includes a Muslim cemetery and an Orthodox cemetery, roads inside the cemetery, an access road and a central alley, a security post, an administrative building, parking and etc.

In close vicinity to the Kurgan, building sites for a mosque and an Orthodox church are provided.

The participants of the inspection discussed the issues of further development of the complex, including the possibility of building a funeral home as part of the Kurgan funeral complex and providing cremation services.
