Tatarstan President and Russian Minister of Health open a new building of the infectious diseases hospital in Kazan

10.08.2020

On August 10, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko took part in a ceremony of launching of a new building of the Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital named after Andrey Agafonov in record-breaking time, namely in 100 days.

The construction of the new building was long planned, but the coronavirus pandemic accelerated the process. Tatarstan President decided to build a capital building rather than a modular building. The total area of the new hospital is 17.5 thousand square meters with the capacity of 232 beds with the possibility of expanding up to 504 beds.

Minnikhanov thanked the builders for the construction of the new hospital building in a short time and praised the quality of the work performed. All money for the implementation of the project, namely over 1.8 billion roubles, was allocated from the regional budget. One quarter of this amount was required for modern technical equipment: ventilators, CT scanners, X-ray machines, endoscopic equipment and ultrasound machines

Tatarstan President handed in state awards of the republic to the builders of the hospital.

Minnikhanov and Murashko looked around the premises of the new medical building.
