Rustam Minnikhanov: I am grateful to the United Russia party, public organizations and teams that supported the nomination of my candidacy

On June 27, at the Moscovsky Cultural Centre in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the 32nd conference of the Tatarstan regional branch of the United Russia party.

Secretary of the Tatarstan regional branch of the United Russia party, member of the Presidium of the General Council of the party, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin said that 121 delegates from 45 local branches of the party, 45 members of the regional Political Council, a total of 186 delegates were nominated to participate in the conference. Following the registration, 161 delegates were present at the conference, making a quorum.

Mukhametshin spoke on the first issue on the agenda – the nomination of a candidacy for the post of President of the Republic of Tatarstan by secret ballot.

Addressing the conference delegates, he reminded that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Tatar ASSR, and this is an important date for the republic, the history of which is filled with bright events.

“Tatarstan has become one of the most developed regions of the country,” Minnikhanov emphasized. “Exactly five years ago, I delivered my speech at a preliminary intra-party vote, presenting the programme that was called "Tatarstan is the territory of opportunities". Over the years, the authorities have done a lot along with the party activists. The main provisions of the programme have been fulfilled. ”

Tatarstan President reminded that there are new projects that also reflect the vision of modern development.

“Much creative work makes the basis for our success. Over the past 10 years, Tatarstan's GRP has grown by 28.7 per cent, industrial production went up by 38.2 per cent. Tatarstan has become a leader in many respects, but economic achievements are not an end in themselves. This is only a tool for solving our main task - improving the quality of life of citizens. And we have something to say to the Tatarstan people,” Minnikhanov said.

According to Minnikhanov, the scientific, educational and IT environment, innovative infrastructure, and promising projects are creating more opportunities for self-realization. "During the pandemic, the healthcare system has demonstrated its high efficiency. The care for the health and social support of older and needy citizens is an indicator of the maturity of society. The Help is Near movement has played a special role", he said.

Over the past decade, 239 kindergartens have been built, 62 schools, 1313 educational facilities have been repaired, 565 primary medical care facilities have been built and 1664 medical facilities have been repaired and equipped. As many as 207 day hospitals have been repaired, more than 1 thousand sports facilities have been built.

The main result of this work is an increase in life expectancy: over 10 years it grew by 4.2 years and exceeded 75 years.

“The elections of the President of Tatarstan are approaching, and I am grateful to the United Russia party, public organizations and teams that supported the nomination of my candidacy,” Minnikhanov said. “I regard this as an assessment of my activities in this post and as trust to continue the transformation course aimed at developing our native Tatarstan. My decision to participate in the elections is based on the results of our joint work and on the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The provisions of the Strategy for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan until 2030 have laid the basis of my programme," he said.
