On June 27, on the Youth Day, a test drive of Russia's biggest extreme park Uram kicked off in Kazan. The centre for thrill-seekers is located under the Millenium Bridge. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Minister of Youth Affairs of the republic Damir Fattakhov assessed the readiness of the park.

The new park consists of eight zones, including a skatepark, two pump tracks for experienced and aspiring athletes, sites for workout and parkour, a streetball park, an airpark and training areas. It is the biggest extreme park in Russia. Its territory is 1.9 hectares. Because of the current epidemiological situation, test drives were held without spectators and in complete safety.

Minnikhanov inspected competition areas, talked to athletes and asked their opinion on the new youth space. The thrill-seekers appreciated the park's infrastructure and called the Kazan site one of the best in the world.

In one of the tents, Minnikhanov greeted the participants of the online forum “Young Time” by video-conference. As many as 1,000 representatives of active youth from 31 regions of Russia and 15 countries are taking part in the forum. The programme includes discussions, creative meetings and lectures from eminent speakers.

Minnikhanov congratulated all forum participants on the Youth Day. “Despite some restrictions, we are celebrating this holiday at such a beautiful venue. It is almost ready, test competitions are underway. We are building a closed park nearby where it will be possible to practice in winter. We must create all conditions for our youth. I feel young myself here,” Tatarstan President said.

He emphasized that much attention is paid to the development of youth policy in the republic. “We have created a special authority - the Ministry of Youth. We have a very active minister. I want to say that we are making up for lost time in recent years. We hoped that schools would do with our youth. But schools are involved in education. Therefore, we have established a whole system of youth support. The corresponding infrastructure is developing, including teenage clubs, creativity centres and other facilities. I assure that the youth has always been and will be the driving force of our republic. We are proud of you!” Minnikhanov said.
