Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Health Worker Day

21.06.2020

Dear health workers!

From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on your main professional holiday!

At all times, your work has been distinguished by a high level of compassion, mercy, and humanism. It is very difficult to share people's pain every day, giving hope and inspiring optimism. Our famous countryman Vladimir Bekhterev said in this regard: "If the patient does not feel better after talking with the doctor, then this is not a doctor."

Taking care of people, their health as the highest value is the fundamental priority in the work of the government. The republic is consistently taking measures to develop the healthcare system. As part of national projects and targeted programmes, new high-tech centres have been built, equipment of hospitals and clinics has been significantly updated. At the same time, along with strengthening the facilities and the development of high-tech care, we are consistently building up efforts to ensure access to medicine and disease prevention, and to train and support medical personnel.

The development of medicine has become a factor to provide public safety recently. It was you who took the brunt, risking your health, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, you continue to work selflessly, saving human lives. You worthily continue the best traditions of national healthcare, earning the deserved respect of Tatarstan people.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to every health worker who is on guard of the health of our citizens.

I wish you professional success, good health, happiness and prosperity to you and your family!

Rustam Minnikhanov
