Tatarstan President allows the holding of Sabantuy in the villages of the republic

On June 20, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov allowed the holding of the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy in the villages of the republic. Minnikhanov emphasized that because of the high risks associated with the distribution of Covid-19, large events, such as Sabantuy, will not be held in cities, regional centres and large settlements. However, villagers can celebrate the plough holiday if they wish.

Minnikhanov drew attention to the fact that the decision to organize Sabantuy should take into account the opinion of the villagers and with all the norms and requirements of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection).
