On June 15, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a videoconference meeting held by Russian President Vladimir Putin, on implementing previously adopted support measures for the economy and the social sphere.

Putin emphasized that feedback is very important when implementing the measures to support the people and businesses. “The main thing is the result and how tangible and timely the support is to individuals, families and companies, and what they think about the effectiveness of these measures as they apply to them and their friends, families and colleagues,” he said.

The head of the state reminded that when the very first steps to combat the epidemic were taken, there was an understanding that the imposed restrictions would affect business activity, the economy, business, and, of course, incomes and well-being of the people. “The logic of our actions was to primarily support citizens, especially families with children, to ensure employment, to help entrepreneurs retain jobs and work teams,” the President of the Russian Federation said.

According to Putin, all packages of measures were taken reasonably and consistently, taking into account the developments in the economy and the labor market. The amount of support and the timing were chosen to make it was as effective as possible, so that help would go to those who needed it most.

Among the measures demanded, the President of Russia named non-repayable subsidies to support employment (in May and June), which are being made available to affected enterprises. Easy-term loans are available for such enterprises as well. In addition, subsidised loans are also provided to systemic companies that found themselves in a difficult situation.

People, who got social payments and benefits, as well as entrepreneurs took part in the meeting. They spoke about support measures they could take advantage of and how easy it was to draw up the necessary applications.

For example, a confectioner from Kazan Liana Pakhareva, being self-employed, returned her tax payments paid last year, and also received tax capital for paying taxes this year. She said that she plans to give presents with candies to veterans of the WW II on the Victory Day Parade to be held on the 24th of June.

Earlier, Minnikhanov appealed to the Government of the Russian Federation with a request to support individual entrepreneurs and self-employed during the crisis caused by Covid-19.
