Rustam Minnikhanov hands in state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan on the Russia Day

On June 12, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov handed in state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan to the most distinguished citizens of the republic.

Opening the event, Minnikhanov congratulated everyone on the national holiday - the Russia Day. “It is symbolic that you receive the well-deserved awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan on this day,” he said. “ Changes in the economy and social sphere, successfully overcoming the challenges associated with the spread of coronavirus infection, strengthening the country's power are a matter of pride and confidence in the future, ensure the authority of the Russian Federation. Strong regions make Russia strong - such as Tatarstan, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Thanks to the creative work of many generations, the support of the federal centre and our national leader Vladimir Putin, the republic is a leading, supportive region of Russia.”

Minnikhanov reminded that in the year of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the World War II we pay tribute and bring words of deep gratitude to all who contributed to the overall victory. Today a senior sergeant, a participant of the WW II Lukman Gareev - a driver of the 106th separate artillery battalion of the 3rd Guards Mechanized Corps, a native of the Menzelinsky region was awarded the Order of Glory Third Class posthumously. (The certificate for the award was handed in to his daughter Nursina Nurullina).

“Tatarstan has consistently supported the policy of improving the lives of citizens and building strong Russia. New facilities are opening in the republic, science and education, culture are actively developing, new socio-cultural facilities and high-quality housing are being commissioned. Today in this hall we honor the distinguished workers in the oil industry, education, construction, and culture. Among the awardees there is Viktor Pivsaev, a senior master of the Kazan College of Construction, Architecture and Urban Management. He prepared our children to participate in the 45th World Skills Championship. He was awarded the title “Honored Master in Professional Skill of the Russian Federation”.

The Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan was awarded to Director General of Kazan Giproniiaviaaprom Boris Tikhomirov, as well as a singer, People's Artist of Tatarstan, Honored Artist of Russia, Artistic Director of the Salavat Youth Centre Salavat Fathutdinov.

“We are proud of all of you,” Minnikhanov said, addressing the participants of the ceremony. “I want to congratulate everyone on your well-deserved awards, thank you for your contribution to the development of the native republic and the Russian Federation, wish you good health, new achievements in work and creativity, prosperity and happiness. I am sure that these awards will be a serious impetus for your future work. ”

In total, 19 Tatarstan citizens received state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.
