Rustam Minnikhanov and Oleg Khorokhordin sign a cooperation agreement between Tatarstan and the Altai Republic

On June 8, during a working visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to the Altai Republic and his meeting with Head of the region Oleg Khorokhordin, the parties signed an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation.

Minnikhanov thanked the Head of the Altai Republic for the hospitality and attention to the development of cooperation with Tatarstan.

I have visited the Altai several times, and I have good memories of your unique region and warm welcome. The agreement between Tatarstan and Altai on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation is a new stage in the relations of our republics. I hope that the epidemiological situation will improve in the near future, we will return to the usual working regime and continue to increase cooperation,” Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President also proposed the preparation of a “road map” for the implementation of the signed agreement.

“Tatarstan supplies to your republic products for a total amount of about 450 million roubles. Our export so far has a narrow nomenclature, it is necessary to expand our trade contacts. Your region is unique,” Minnikhanov emphasized.

Speaking about trade and economic cooperation, Tatarstan President also noted that Altai is of interest from the point of view of natural diversity.

“The unique nature of Altai Mountains is the property of the whole country. Tourism infrastructure is successfully developing in your region. It is necessary to increase its transport accessibility,” Tatarstan President said.

Minnikhanov invited Head of the Altai Republic to visit Kazan and the region to get acquainted with the industrial and investment potential and to strengthen cooperation.
