As many as 362 new coronavirus cases registered in Tatarstan this week

On June 6, speaking at a videoconference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with the participation of all municipal regions of the republic, Head of Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare in Tatarstan, Chief Sanitary Physician of the republic Marina Patyashina said that as many as 362 new coronavirus cases have been registered in the republic this week, while 445 cases were registered last week.

Speaking about the epidemiological situation in general, Patyashina reported that currently 306.3 cases (192.9 cases excluding Moscow) per 100,000 population have been recorded in Russia, with 89.8 cases per 100,000 people registered in Tatarstan.

Tatarstan has steadily declined the number of new coronavirus cases and ranks 71st in the all-Russian ranking of region and the 12th among the regions of the Volga Federal District.

As of June 6, the total number of cases makes 3504 people in increasing numbers in Tatarstan, including 217 children (6 per cent) and 545 people (15 per cent) over 65 years old.

It was noted that as many as 3235 people have recovered.

Patyashina went on to report that the proportion of asymptomatic cases has decreased to 12 per cent over the past week. However, the number of severe cases does not increase. New cases make just over 1 per cent.

Speaking about the regions of the republic, Patyashina emphasized that the situation varies.

In the republic, eight laboratories have started making antibody tests since May 28. Patyashina said that they are in high demand, adding that 1,386 people have made such tests during this time.
