On June 3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a regular meeting of the working group of the State Council of the Russian Federation on Construction, Housing and Utilities, Urban Environment by videoconference.

Aide to Russian President Igor Levitin welcomed the members of the working group.

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the national Government to update the indicators of national projects in one and a half months, and to hold working groups on each individual national project.

Tatarstan President emphasized that an appeal on the need to consider amendments in the methodology for calculating of the two indicators: the number of families that have improved their housing conditions and the level of housing affordability was sent to Russian Ministry of Construction.

Minnikhanov said that all the instructions put before the secretariat of the working group have been completed.

The economic situation has seriously changed in the country, and Russian President made important stimulating decisions to support the construction industry, Minnikhanov said.

This includes the mortgage lending programme for new housing at 6.6 percent per annum (until November 2020), the establishment of the Fund to assist defrauded housing equity holders and others.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Government Marat Khusnullin emphasized that the Government of the country worked actively to develop a national economic recovery plan, and 173 activities relating to the construction industry were included into this plan.

The members of the working group also discussed issues of further development of the construction industry in the current conditions and other pressing issues for the growth of the construction rate.
