Tatarstan Prime Minister introduces Acting Rector of Kazan National Research Technological University Yuri Kazakov

On June 1, at Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU), Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a meeting with members of the Scientific Council and introduced the Acting Rector of the University Yuri Kazakov.

Pesoshin said that on May 27, 2020, Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education signed the decree to temporarily remove Sergey Yushko from the post of Rector of the Kazan National Research Technological University for the period of the criminal proceedings until its termination or until the sentence of the court comes into force.

Kazakov is a graduate of KNRTU, and his work was closely connected with universities. For ten years he worked at the Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemical Technology. He then held senior positions at SIBUR Petrochemical Company, Pesoshin said.

You know how important KNRTU is for the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister addressed the members of the scientific council. According to him, this university trains highly qualified personnel and conducts scientific research.

KNRTU includes 26 research and educational centres, 38 small enterprises, among the partners of the university are the largest companies, including Gazprom Power Company, the SIBUR, Tatneft Oil Company, Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company, Kazanorgsintez Chemical Company and others. Today, the leadership of the university has an important task to maintain scientific potential, continue cooperation with innovative enterprises of the industry, and to increase the level of quality education of chemical specialists.
