Rustam Minnikhanov visits World War II participant Mahyan Kamaev

On May 9, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the participant of the World War II Makhyan Kamaev.

Kamaev was drafted into the army in 1944. He served in the field artillery brigade in the Far East, participated in the war with Japan. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class and the medal "For Victory over Japan" for his courage. Now he lives in Kazan with his wife Munira Miniakhmetovna.

Minnikhanov congratulated the veteran on the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and wished him good health and many years of life.

In his turn, Kamaev thanked the leadership of the republic for the attention paid to the veterans and his overall support.

This year, in addition to federal payments Tatarstan President made a decision to pay 25,000 roubles to war veterans, former underage prisoners of Nazi concentration camps and people awarded the sign “Resident of the besieged Leningrad”. Moreover, homefront workers and widows of war veterans received 5,000 rouble from the regional budget.
