At Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant, Rustam Minnikhanov presented a new thermal imager to combat coronavirus infection

On May 7, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant.

In the current sanitary and epidemiological situation, the plant operates in a restrictive mode in compliance with all established sanitary requirements.

Director General of the plant Vadim Maksimov briefed about the products manufactured today.

Minnikhanov looked around optical production facilities and got acquainted with the promising products.

Tatarstan President was presented a new thermal imager, the production of which is planned at the enterprise for combating coronavirus infection.

The topographic complex measures the temperature of all those entering the room remotely. The thermal imager is capable of taking measurements of 30 people at the same time.

The advantage of the device is that it is all-weather, it can also be located on the street. Alexander Scientific and Production Association was the developer.

Today, the plant is the only serial producer of observational equipment in Russia: astronautical systems and periscopes; thermal imaging aiming equipment, observation and photo-recording instruments, telescope-sights, optoelectronic surveillance and targeting systems; binoculars, telescopes and night vision devices. The company is developing new optical devices for civilian and military purposes.
