On May 5, speaking at an online briefing, Head of the Tatarstan Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare Marina Patyashina said that a draft plan to gradually lift restrictive measures is ready in Tatarstan.

“Of course, we have a draft plan for lifting restrictive measures in Tatarstan. We are waiting for certain recommendations from the Government of the Russian Federation,” the speaker said.

“The growth rate of new cases over the past five days is 7-8 per cent daily. Therefore, we cannot cancel restrictive measures to any degree at the moment. If the growth rate is no more than 4-6 per cent during the week, this will already allow us to let some businesses get down to work. Perhaps they will include the service sector, non-food stores, parks and squares,” Patyashina explained.

She also noted that the decision to cancel the self-isolation mode in the republic will be made depending on the number of new cases from May 10 to 12.
