Rustam Minnikhanov visits Tatarstan Power System Control Centre and Kazan CHP unit -1

On April 30, during his visit to Tatarstan Power System Control Centre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the current situation regarding the energy supply for citizens of the republic and the state of the regional electric grid facilities.

Director of Tatarstan Power System Control Centre Andrei Bolshakov reported on the organization of work of the control centre during the coronavirus pandemic. He said that employees maintain a social distance and that personal protective and disinfection facilities are provided at their workplaces.

As for the current state of the power system, the regional power plants generate over 2600 MW at the moment.  The current consumption makes 3200 MW. The remaining quantity is covered through purchases outside the region. Bolshakov noted that all power plants are operating according to a planned dispatch schedule. Repair work is carried out as part of previously planned activities at the facilities.

Director General of Grid Company Ilshat Fardiev said that today the company’s is operating as usual with maintenance and repair carried out according to the schedule without any deviations. During the coronavirus epidemic, 54 per cent of employees work from home. The company provides assistance to medical facilities. In particular, more than 5 million roubles were allocated for the needs of the Regional Clinical Hospital.

Director General TGC-16 Eduard Galeev added that the facility also continues working at full speed. “In terms of reserves, we have at least a two-month supply. Even if all deliveries are completely stopped, we will be able to work for two months,” he said.

Leaders of the Kazan CHP unit-3 and Nizhnekamsk CHP unit-1 made their reports on the operation of cogeneration power plants via videoconference.

Later on the same day, Minnikhanov visited Kazan CHP-1. Via videoconference, Tatarstan President contacted heads of Tatenergo’s generating facilities and heating networks. Minnikhanov was informed about the current work of the companies and the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
