Members of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia led by Rustam Minnikhanov discuss regional support measures in the current situation

On April 27, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a videoconference with members of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, moderated by Director of the Association Ivan Fedotov.

The meeting participants discussed the information about the Association's work on the collection and analysis of proposals on regional support measures in the current sanitary-epidemiological and economic situation.

Governors and deputy governors of such regions as Nizhny Novgorod, Kaluga, Tomsk, Ulyanovsk Regions and the Republic of Sakha made reports.

Minnikhanov emphasized that in the current conditions, the regions together with the federal centre should focus on the implementation of measures to counter the spread of coronavirus infection and stabilization of the socio-economic situation.

He briefed about measures taken to support small business and certain categories of citizens in Tatarstan.

Tatarstan President emphasized that the solution of social problems is of great importance.

In Tatarstan, volunteers are delivering essential goods and products to citizens in need, the monthly fee for kindergartens during the isolation period has been canceled, iPads for the organization of distance learning for children from low-income families have been purchased.

Tatarstan was the first region to launch an e-service for issuing permits for leaving the house during the period of self-isolation (SMS permits).

The enterprises of the republic increased the production of personal protective equipment as soon as possible.

The main manufacturer of antiseptic agents in the republic - Aromat Company significantly increased the production of hygienic gels and additional lines for the production of masks were launched at the enterprises.

Minnikhanov urged to strengthen interregional ties in such a difficult time.

Representatives of the regions - Association members informed about the measures taken in each region and shared their successful experience.

The meeting participants also discussed possible support measures that can be taken at the initiative of the Association members at the federal level.
