On April 17, during his working visit to Nizhnekamsk region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn ceremony of launching hydroprocessing unit for heavy coking gas oil and sulfolane extractive distillation unit of an aromatic hydrocarbon production complex at the Taneko Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex.
The launch of the hydroprocessing unit for heavy coking gas oil will help to produce marine fuel that meets the requirements of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships MARPOL in the amount of up to 750,000 tonnes per year. Subsequently, it is necessary to send hydrotreated heavy gas oil to a catalytic cracking unit and increase the production of Euro-5 gasolines that meet the requirements of Euro-6 engines by 500,000 tonnes per year.
Minnikhanov thanked Tatneft Oil Company for the implementation of priority tasks to deepen oil refining and the production of high-quality oil products.
Tatarstan President emphasized that despite the difficult global situation, the Taneko continues developing high-tech industries. He expressed confidence that all projects will be implemented in a timely manner.
General Director of the TATNEFT Nail Maganov noted that the launch of two new units at the Taneko is a major contribution to the stability of the domestic market, strengthening the economy and ensuring the country's energy security.
