Tatarstan President gets acquainted with the progress of spring field work in Almetyevsk region

On April 10, during his visit to Almetyevsk region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov talked to farmers and got acquainted with the progress of spring field work.

Head of the region Timur Nagumanov said that over 12,000 hectares of land were allotted for winter crops. An area of ​​8,800 hectares or 71 per cent have been fertilized. As many as 1,300 hectares of fall-plowed land and fallow land and 900 hectares of perennial grass have been hallowed.

He went on to report that all farms are provided with seeds. Nagumanov said that by the beginning of the sowing campaign, farmers have the necessary equipment. In the coming days, a number of farms plan to begin sowing early crops.

Minnikhanov emphasized that spring field work should be carried out within the reasonable time, ensuring high-quality sowing of grain. He called everyone involved in the sowing campaign to observe the necessary sanitary and epidemiological safety measures in connection with the risk of the spread of a new type of coronavirus infection.
