For December 1, 3157 fires have happened in republic (2,7 percent less than for the same period of last year); 207 people died (11 percent less than for the same period of last year).

Such information has been presented by Deputy Chief of the Department for supervisory activity of the Main Department of the Russian Ministry of emergency situations on RT, Lieutenant Colonel of the internal service Maxim Trushin at a briefing at the RT Cabinet.

He informed that the number of fires has increased in13 regions and Naberezhnye Chelny. He focused on reasons that cause loss of lives in fires. Among them are careless handling of fire, incorrect handling of electrical and stove equipment.

Maxim Trushin stressed that according to statistics, most of fires occur in the housing fund. Alcohol intoxication is the most common reason that causes loss of lives in fires.
