Tatarstan plans to increase the share of digitalization of public services to 70 per cent in 2022

On March 17, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications Ayrat Khayrullin said that Tatarstan plans to increase the share of digitalization of public services to 70 per cent as early as 2022 - two years ahead of schedule.

In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the meeting was broadcast online.

Khayrullin said that today in Tatarstan the share of services available online is already 42.5 per cent.

“The main task of Digital Public Administration federal project is to create conditions and services that by 2024, 100 per cent of priority state and municipal services are provided without a personal visit, and the interaction of citizens and business with the state is 70 per cent in e-form,” Minister said.

The development of digital public administration is one of the most important areas of Digital Economy national project. It envisages the establishment in the republic of a unified platform infrastructure for the provision of state and municipal services, and the improvement of the efficiency of the public administration system, Khayrullin concluded.

He emphasized that one of the main aims for today is to train highly qualified personnel through retraining in the competencies of the digital economy according to the passport of the regional project. Tatarstan will train specialists in 25 areas, including web design and web development, development of computer games and multimedia applications, Internet marketing, SMM and several others.

The Minister informed that in each region of Tatarstan its own IT lyceum will be established. The project is being implemented together with Yandex company. It is completely free. The company will retrain the teachers so that they can provide students with professional knowledge in software development.

Earlier, Russian Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation recommended the implementation of distance education for schoolchildren. These measures are aimed at preventing the development of the coronavirus epidemic in the country. Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization gave advice on the organization of e-learning for students.

Khayrullin concluded that information technology provides an enormous opportunity to know how other countries are using the digital technology to combat the Covid-19 coronavirus and organize the disease prevention.
