Tatarstan President attends a farewell ceremony for Irek Minnakhmetov

On March 15, at the Ak Bars Arena Stadium, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov attended a farewell ceremony for the well-known Tatarstan businessman, the former Director General of of Tatspirtprom Distillery Irek Minnakhmetov.

First Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Russia Irek Fayzullin, First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov Asgat Safarov attended the ceremony.

Irek Minnakhmetov died unexpectedly at the age of 39 on the 13th of March. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Minnikhanov expressed his condolences to Irek Minnakhmetov’s family and friends.

“Unfortunately, his plans came to an end very early. Irek Minnakhmetov was one of the most prominent leaders of the republic. We will always remember him and his activities,” Tatarstan President said.

Earlier, Minnikhanov sent a telegram to Irek Minnakhmetov’s relatives to express his  condolences.

"This is a huge loss both for you and your entire large family, and for our republic. Irek Minnakhmetov was known for his high business activity, creative thinking, the ability to achieve his goal and managed to do a lot for his native Tatarstan in the economic sector, in sports, and in the field of charity," the telegram says.
