Minnikhanov meets women – representatives of mass media agencies on the eve of the International Women’s Day

On March 6, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a regular meeting with women – representatives of federal and regional mass media agencies on the eve of the International Women’s Day.

Answering questions during the meeting, Minnikhanov said that the family, the motherhood and the childhood are the focus of attention nowadays.

According to him, support for families with children is the most important area for the republic. He noted that journalists have visited the Perinatal Centre of the Regional Clinical Hospital today, where the most modern conditions for providing medical care to expectant mothers and children have been created. Many families return to the maternity clinic to have their second and third child, he went on to say. 

Minnikhanov reminded that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law expanding the maternity capital programme. The family will have the right to receive the maternity capital in the amount of 466,617 roubles, when the first child is born.

Another important decision to support families with children is to provide free hot meals to all primary school students from grade one through four, Tatarstan President continued. 

Minnikhanov reminded that a complete inventory of school canteens is underway in the republic. By the 1st of September this year, it is necessary not only to provide all primary school students with free hot meals, but also to do everything to ensure that they are healthy and of high quality.

Providing primary school students from grade one through four with hot meals is a very important topic Putin voiced in his Address to the Federal Assembly.

At his meeting with representatives of mass media agencies, Minnikhanov emphasized the role of journalists in providing objective information against fake news in social networks.

The role of journalists in this context is growing, Minnikhanov emphasized. According to him, the authorities rely on media agencies that can help cover truthful information.

Minnikhanov answered a lot of questions journalists asked him, including the construction of social infrastructure near new residential neighborhoods, providing jobs, improving the quality of life of rural dwellers.
