Rustam Minnikhanov meets people’s deputies of the State Duma of Russia from Tatarstan

On February 27, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with members of the Federation Council and people’s deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia elected from Tatarstan.

Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, heads of regional ministries and agencies took part in the meeting.

Minnikhanov reminded that today's meeting is aimed at summing up the results of work to promote the initiatives of the republic and to attract federal funds to the economy of Tatarstan in 2019, as well as setting tasks for the current year. He briefly outlined the main macroeconomic indicators of Tatarstan in 2019 and added that they show positive dynamics.

Minnikhanov emphasized that it is important to continue to take an active position in the distribution of federal funding. According to Tatarstan President, it is necessary to carry out systematic work in terms of work on national projects, implementation of federal and regional projects. 

Speaking at the meeting, Mukhametshin gave a brief assessment of the activities of people’s deputies of the Russian State Duma last year, noting such indicators as work in committees of the State Duma, introduction of legislative initiatives, meetings with voters, participation in regional events and attraction of additional funding.

Mukhametshin reminded that last year 1 of 10 bills introduced from Tatarstan was adopted, while 7 bills are under consideration.

Moreover, he cited data on the work of people’s deputies with citizens' appeals. According to him, not all members of the State Duma are quite responsible in considering appeals and in meetings with voters.

Information on meetings held by working groups in 2019 as well as planned volumes of federal funding for 2020 was provided at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov asked the people’s deputies to ensure the maximum inclusion of regional initiatives and activities in federal projects and their financing.

Minnikhanov wished them success and reminded that Tatarstan has always worked in a well-coordinated manner with all branches and levels of the government.
