On February 15, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov laid flowers at the monument to Musa Jalil.
Erected in 1966 to commemorate the Hero of the Soviet Union, the Lenin Prize laureate, the poet and patriot Musa Jalil, who was a member of the anti-fascist underground, the monument is located at the southern facade of the Kazan Kremlin. Jalil was executed in the Nazi prison in 1944.
The guards of honor were posted at the monument today. Public representatives, schoolchildren came to pay tribute to the memory of the poet, who was born on the 15th of February.
