On February 6, in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President, Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Herman Gref took part in the solemn opening of School 21, Sberbank’s educational project, which will provide employers of the republic and the whole country with world-class programmers in the next few years.
A large educational project of Sberbank will cover a number of regions of Russia in the future. School 21 was previously opened in Moscow. Specialists trained in School 21 meet the highest requirements, their skills are relevant, despite the rapid development of technology, and will make a technological digital leap in the whole country. About 300 students of the School already undertake internships at Sberbank and other leading IT companies.
Minnikhanov emphasized that the opening of School 21 is of great importance for the republic for the development of digitalization. “We can provide the necessary infrastructure and establish all conditions, but without specialists, this work will be for nothing. School 21 is a unique educational institution. When people are not forced, but want to learn new directions for themselves, this means that they will be very efficient,” he said.
Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of Sberbank for their attention to cooperation with Tatarstan, especially in the implementation of joint educational projects.
Gref noted that quality education in forward-looking skills is the key to the successful development of the country.
The results shown in Moscow convinced of the need for the development of the project.
Minnikhanov and Gref signed a cooperation agreement between Tatarstan and Sberbank of Russia. The document is aimed at the development and implementation of digital technologies in the republic in priority sectors of the economy and social sphere.
Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Roman Shaykhutdinov and First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Alexander Vedyakhin signed a cooperation agreement between Tatarstan Government and Sberbank of Russia, aimed at attracting technology in innovative development.
