Rustam Minnikhanov: Sberbank is an important strategic partner of Tatarstan

On February 6, at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Centre, speaking at an annual Sberbank business conference with participation of President, Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Herman Gref, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Sberbank is an important strategic partner of Tatarstan.

The conference is Sberbank’s internal event aimed at summing up the work during the year and discussing issues of further transformation and development of the bank, the establishment of its ecosystem and interaction with customers.

Minnikhanov emphasized that today Sberbank is a leader in a number of areas. Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of Sberbank for choosing Kazan as the venue for such a large-scale event.

Gref emphasized that Tatarstan and Sberbank have long-standing friendly relations and said that the republic is gradually becoming the centre of the digital industry.

Gref noted the high level of the business climate in the republic. He said that together with Sberbank the republic launched Business Class educational project and today School 21 is to be opened. “I want to thank the leadership of the republic for the interaction. We are achieving a new level of cooperation in all areas,” Sberbank Head added.

During the conference, Minnikhanov and Gref handed over the state awards of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan to Sberbank employees.

This year, the conference is dedicated primarily to the Sberbank ecosystem. About 1,400 heads of the central office, territorial banks, central subdivisions and Sberbank companies from all over Russia took part in the event. The conference consists of a series of panel sessions, round tables and cross-functional sessions.
