Rustam Minnikhanov to KAMAZ - Master team members: You are an example for young people involved in motorsport and technical sports

On January 29, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with KAMAZ - Master team members, where they were honored on the occasion of their victory at Dakar Rally 2020.

KAMAZ - Master team won at Dakar Rally 2020 in the truck class in Saudi Arabia. Andrey Karginov’s crew was the best, and Anton Shibalov won the silver in the overall ranking.

Welcoming the team, Minnikhanov said that Dakar 2020 on the Arabian Peninsula was not a small challenge for our crews.

Minnikhanov emphasized that today KAMAZ is a brand of not only Tatarstan, but of the whole country.

Tatarstan President thanked the athletes and the whole team, the senior managers of KAMAZ Automaker and General Director Sergey Kogogin for the establishment of conditions for production and creative achievements at the enterprise, the Autosport Federation of the republic, team sponsors - for the support provided and, most importantly all KAMAZ–Master team members.

“You are an example for young people involved in motorsport and all technical sports. You make motorsport famous both in Tatarstan and in Russia. Your victory is a worthy gift and contribution to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Tatar ASSR and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the World War II,” Tatarstan President addressed the participants of the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, Minnikhanov handed in state awards of Tatarstan and Letters of Gratitude of Tatarstan President to athletes and team leaders.

Namely, test driver of KAMAZ-Avtosport (pilot of the sports crew, 1st place) Andrey Karginov and test driver of KAMAZ-Autosport organization (navigator of the sports crew, 1st place) Andrey Mokeev were awarded the Duslyk Order.

Minnikhanov handed in the medal “100th anniversary of the foundation of the Tatar ASSR" to Sergey Kogogin and Director of KAMAZ-Avtosport organization, Team Leader Vladimir Chagin.
