Rustam Minnikhanov congratulates Zenit-Kazan and Dinamo-Kazan volleyball teams on another trophies

On January 17, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Zenit-Kazan and Dinamo-Kazan volleyball teams.

Last December, Zenit-Kazan men's volleyball club won the Russian Cup for the sixth time in a row. Zenit-Kazan defeated Zenit from Saint Petersburg in the final match. The Dynamo women's team from Kazan also defeated Dynamo-Moscow in a key game of the Russian Cup.

He emphasized that Zenit-Kazan became a 9-time winner and Dynamo-Kazan became a 5-time winner of the Russian Cup. “We are proud of your victories. Due to your achievements, volleyball in Tatarstan is getting impetus for the development and becoming more and more popular. You are an example for all of us, and especially for the young generation of Tatarstan athletes. Today, over 4,500 children and young people are involved in this kind of sport in the republic. As many as 42,000 people in the republic, including 18,000 women are involved in volleyball,” Tatarstan President said.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the success of the teams is the result of a systematic, dedicated work of the whole team: players, coaches, administrative staff.

He handed in gratitude letters of Tatarstan President to both teams. In their turn, teams handed over a medal of the Russian Cup, a ball with autographs of volleyball players and a photo book to Minnikhanov.
