Rustam Minnikhanov: We can definitely say that the current season was successful for Tatarstan motorsport

On December 20, the results of the 2019 motorsport season were summed up. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the winners of regional, Russian and international competitions.

Tatarstan President noted that the current season was successful for Tatarstan motorsport. The crew of Eduard Nikolaev from the KAMAZ-Master team won the popular Dakar rally-raid once again. Significant results were achieved by our racers at the world rally cross-country championship.

“Today, great attention is paid to the development of motor sports in Tatarstan. A solid school has been established in the republic. We have rich traditions, developed infrastructure, and most importantly, there are people who support this sport. I want to thank the old-stagers of motor sports, as well as to note the great contribution of the sponsors. Car racing is a rather expensive sport requiring serious investments,” Tatarstan President emphasized.

He also thanked the racers. “Everyone has got different results this year. Despite this, you need to continue to participate in all competitions. Only experience and desire will make it possible to prove yourselves. Only in this way can good results be achieved,” Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President added that it is necessary to prepare for the next season. Moreover, the 100th anniversary of the TASSR and the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory will be celebrated in 2020. “You should perform in a proper manner in every race. You need to prepare your cars and pit crew. Victory is the merit of both a racer and the result of team work,” Minnikhanov said.

Then, Minnikhanov handed in state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to the most distinguished racers of this season.
