On December 11, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a Tatarstan-Slovakia business forum during a working visit of a delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan to Bratislava.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Lukáš Parízek addressed the guests and participants of the event with his welcoming speech.
In his turn, Minnikhanov expressed gratitude to the leadership of Russia and Slovakia for supporting joint projects and initiatives, including those at the interregional level. He also thanked Lukáš Parízek for his personal participation in the forum.
We are interested in attracting Slovak business and capital to Tatarstan and we will be glad to expand mutually beneficial ties, Minnikhanov said.
According to him, representatives of business circles have the opportunity to open new areas for interaction, to agree on joint projects during the forum.
The Slovak Republic is an important foreign partner of Tatarstan. In 2018, mutual trade turnover grew and amounted to over 500 million US dollars, Minnikhanov reminded.
Tatarstan company Tatneft has partnership relations with MOL and Slovnaft.
The previous business forum was held in July this year during the stay of Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Andrey Danko in Tatarstan. Many Tatarstan and Slovak companies took part in the event.
“The forum gave a new impetus to the cooperation of our business circles,” Minnikhanov said. “There is significant potential for expanding our cooperation in the oil and refining industry, petrochemicals, power engineering, machine building and machine tool building, in the field of automation of production processes and other spheres. It is necessary to look for new ways and increase cooperation, primarily in the field of innovation,” he continued.
Tatarstan is one of the industrially developed regions of Russia. We export about half of our goods and actively interact with the outside world, Minnikhanov noted.
Much attention is paid to innovations and new technologies in the region. Tatarstan is one of the leaders in the national investment climate ranking, he went on to say.
“We invite you to cooperate with Tatarstan,” Minnikhanov addressed representatives of the Slovak business - participants of the Tatarstan-Slovakia forum.
