Rustam Minnikhanov visits the Kazan Helicopter Plant and awards best engineers of the republic

On December 10, at the Kazan Helicopter Plant, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and representatives of several enterprises of the republic took part in a summing up meeting on the results of the work of industrial enterprises of the republic during 10 months of 2019.

Before the meeting, Minnikhanov accompanied by CEO of the Kazan Helicopter Plant Yuri Pustovgarov looked around the exhibition of helicopters manufactured by the plant. Tatarstan President got acquainted with Mi-38 helicopter for civil aviation. This helicopter was first introduced at the Moscow air show MAKS-2019 in August of the current year, where Russian President Vladimir Putin got acquainted with it.

The rotorcraft was also introduced to the participants of the Dubai Airshow 2019. Modern technical solutions in safety and comfort were used in the construction of the interior of the helicopter. The flight range in the transport configuration is up to 1000 kilometers.  Having maximum take-off weight of 15.6 tons, the helicopter is capable of taking 5 tonnes of payload.

Ansat helicopter equipped with a medical module was also introduced at the flight test complex of the plant. A helicopter can not only transport patients, but also monitor the human condition, support vital functions of the body, and, if necessary, provide intensive therapy.

Tatarstan President also visited a number of production shops. In particular, he looked around the venue of aggregate-assembly production and the final assembly workshop.

At the meeting, Minnikhanov awarded the winners of Engineer of the Year – 2019 regional contest. The contest is aimed at popularization of engineering and working professions and providing qualified industrial, engineering and technical personnel to key industrial enterprises of the region. Contest is held in three categories in 12 industry nominations. A total of 258 applications were submitted for participation. As many as 33 engineers from 21 enterprises became winners.
