Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening of the 19th International Exhibition “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Welding. Kazan”

On December 4, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of the 19th International Exhibition “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Welding. Kazan”.

Delivering his welcoming speech as an honoured guest at the opening ceremony, Minnikhanov reminded that this year the event is held at the new, modern Kazan-Expo International Exhibition Centre for the first time.

He noted that 222 companies from six countries and 31 Russian regions are taking part in the international exhibition, which makes it the largest specialized exposition not only in the Volga region, but also in the country.

Besides, Tatarstan President thanked foreign and Russian partners for their interest in cooperation.

As noted at the event, the engineering complex plays an important role in the socio-economic development of Tatarstan. Today, the industry includes more than 3,000 enterprises, which employ 120,000 people.

In his turn, Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Varank, who also took part in the ceremony, noted that relations with Tatarstan constitute an important part of relations with the Russian Federation. Thus, 140 Turkish companies work in Tatarstan, which contribute to the economic development of the region and to reducing unemployment, he said.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Dmitry Ovsyannikov wished everyone good contacts and good contracts.

After the opening ceremony, Minnikhanov and other guests looked around the exposition and stands of the companies participating in the exhibition.
