Rustam Minnikhanov proposes using the experience of the WorldSkills-2019 Competition for the performance of the national team at EuroSkills-2022 in St. Petersburg

On November 29, in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

The meeting summed up the results of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 and the World Competition heritage programme.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov made a brief report on the results of holding the WorldSkills Competition in Kazan. He reminded that the right to host the competition was won thanks to the authority of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. He stressed that the federal centre and all the involved ministries and agencies rendered overall support during preparation for the championship.

There were no problems regarding the preparation of the competition, all the complicated complex issues that needed to be addressed at the federal level were quickly and promptly resolved, Minnikhanov emphasized.

We worked closely and effectively with the Ministry of Education of Russia, Minnikhanov also noted.

Other federal ministries and agencies, regions of Russia, educational, youth and public organizations were also involved in the preparation of the World Competition.

Minnikhanov also noted the professionalism and work of the Union of Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia).

According to him, the experience gained in São Paulo and Abu Dhabi (the WorldSkills 2017 in Abu Dhabi) was very useful in preparing and holding the event in Kazan.

Minnikhanov also reminded that the WorldSkills 2019 became a landmark event in Tatarstan. In particular, 2019 was declared the Year of Blue-Collar Workers in the region, a whole range of measures were also taken to develop the WorldSkills movement and to promote vocational profession.

In addition, a modern Kazan-EXPO exhibition complex was specially built to host the championship.

Tatarstan President noted vast experience gained in the preparation and conduct of the WorldSkills Competition, and suggested using this experience for the successful preparation and performance of the national team at EuroSkills2022 in St. Petersburg.
